Here are some Pack 10 FAQ’s about selling…
- We are going to go door-to-door with another family. Can we just share popcorn and settle up later? Not exactly! We ENCOURAGE you to go door-to-door with other pack members, especially in those subdivisions where there are multiple scouts in the same neighborhood. If you are planning to do this, though, you need to be responsible for the popcorn YOU check out, and your friends need to do the same. If you agree ahead of time to split a case with another family, we can check out half-cases, but we cannot keep track of individual 'trades.' Please remember that we have to account for every single can or carton at the end of the sale. If something is checked out to you, we ask you to either pay for it or return it.
- If we don't sell all of the popcorn we check out, can we bring it to one of the show and sells? NO! The show and sells are GROUP efforts and every cub scout taking the time to participate gets credit for a share of the GROUP sales. The popcorn you check out should stay at home. If we find we need unsold popcorn for a show and sell, and you want to turn some back early, one of the popcorn coordinators can arrange that with you directly. But all of the popcorn sold at a show and sell will be credited to the group.
- We sold all our popcorn. Can we get some more? Yes - when the sale closes in October. For the sanity of our record-keepers, and in fairness to the whole pack, we cannot start filling piecemeal orders while the sale is still going on. You can still keep taking orders, though! And don't worry! Some of the highest sellers in past years have been scouts who did nothing BUT take orders. Last year we were able to fill MOST of the orders when the sale period closed.
- Should the scout wear their uniform? Yes, please make sure the scout wears their Class A uniform when selling popcorn.
